My second teaching Class



My second teaching class

Well, this time was a Little bit different. I was secure of myself in what things I was going to do. First of all, I prepared my class and I started with a warm-up playing the activity “whispering the sentence” I divided the class into two groups. Then, I asked the students to stand up and form a line for each group in front of the board.
I had in my hands two different sentences per each group. I was going to whisper one sentence to the last student and this one had to whisper the sentence until the first student and this one had to write the sentence on the board. The students got the idea, but then I got worried because in a moment it was difficult for other student to remember the sentence even though those were short sentences. I asked them to write what they remembered and they did it so.
Then, I asked them to open their books and work in an exercise completing the chart with some information. The students were taking too much time to do this activity and I was worried because of the time. I demanded them to complete the chart by seen my example.  I drew the chart on the board and explained that to them filling the first space. They took more than the expected time for this activity and I had to help them for them to finish the chart.
After this activity I passed to a listening that was a short conversation. I played it the first time. I demanded them only to listen to. Then I said open your books and read and listen at the same time and so on the third time. In this time they had to complete the missing information. Then, I started to read it and I asked them to repeat after me. They did it as I demanded but the problem was that the time finished and I could not finish the last activity which was the basis of my objective. But at the end everything was fine.

Well, it was about two fifty five p.m. I was not nervous but a little bit worried thinking about if it would be as the other time that any teacher came to evaluate my class. This time, I was eager to give my class. Although I had prepared many things for my class, I was feeling unsecure of what I was going to do, but later when I was in front of the class, I started to feel more confortable.

I started my class with a warm-up, using the game of "hot potato", and  I said the students to stand up and I explained to them that in my hands I had a paper-ball. I said the guys that the ball was made of pieces of paper and that in each piece there was written a question. I said that I was going to pass the ball, and that I was going to clap my hands and also count until ten and when I stop clapping my hands, the one who got the ball was going to take out a piece of paper, then read and also answer the question, and so on until the questions in the pieces of paper finished. I was a little bit worried because some students did not know what to do.Then, I explained somethings in Spanish because I have seen the teacher doing exactly the same.

Then, I  develop the other activity which was " find someone who". For this activity, the teacher brought the worksheets in which the students were going to work in. And I asked them to stand up and walk around their classmates in order to complete some information in the worksheet. All the students started to walk around and  complete their worksheets, it took about five minutes. Later that all of them have finished their worksheet, I asked  some of them what information they have gotten. It was to see if they had finished the task I demanded them.

the following activity was a reading,  I asked the students to go to the page eighteen because they were going to work first in a listening and later in a conversation. I played the track twenty four three times. The first time, the students were going to listen only. The second time they were going to listen and read. And the third time they were to complete some information about location and direction. when I played the track the first time, I was a little bit nervous beacuse I was not sure what was going to be the track, but later I found it and also I played it the three times.

To finish the class, I asked the students to work in pairs. They were going to work in a conversation model changing. I felt in these moments as if the students were not doing what I asked them. They are true- bigginers and think that for that reason they have some problem for understanding the Englsih. I also asked them to work on page 19 and while they were trying to complete the task I demanded, the ring-bell sounded and I finiched my class because obviously I did not have more time. But in deed, I was a great time as a  teacher.
